JoAnne Myers, Wicked Intentions anthology

JoAnne Myers-Author of Murder Most Foul,- Wicked Intentions,- Loves', Myths', and Monsters',- The Crime of the Century,- Twisted Love, and Flagitious.

Please tell us about yourself. I have written a total of seven books now. I am a mother of three and grandmother of eight. I believe in family values and following your dreams.

Please tell us your latest news. My biography true crime book “The Crime of the Century” is due out January 30.

Are you a full-time writer or part-time, and how do you organize your writing time? I write when I am not working outside my home.

When and why did you begin writing? I began as a child, and when stories begin to form in my head, I have to get them out somehow, so I put them on paper.

What inspired you to write your first book? The crime itself. It was a true crime that occurred in my town.

What do you do when you’re not writing/editing or thinking about writing/editing? I spend time with relatives, my two dogs and painting. My website is Books and Paintings by JoAnne

What are your thoughts about promotion? It’s a lot of work, and hopefully it will pay off. I would like to see my books on television.

What do you think is the difference between writing short stories and novels? A short story is up to 20
pages, but a novel is unlimited in pages. I think short stories are easier to write.

Why did you decide to create this collection, and is there a common theme to the stories? The stories
formed in my head, and I had to write about them. The common theme is that all the stories are paranormal/mystery tales.

Is there a message in your stories that you want readers to grasp? I just want my readers to enjoy the
stories, and not have nightmares.

What about your book makes it special? It is filled with ghost incidents, mystery, adventure and love.

What is your marketing plan? Internet sites, my website, book fairs, word of mouth, being a guest author on other writers sites, and announcing it in newspapers.

Any tips for new authors interested in this type of writing? Choose something not commonly written about, and let your imagination flow.

What do you do when you’re not writing? I paint and do volunteer work

What do you look for in a book when you sit down to read for fun? That it grabs me from the start.

  1. Promotion certainly is a lot of work! I think all writers hate that part of it. Sounds like some good stories!
