AUTHOR: Ana Raine
BOOK TITLE: Levi (Agency 2)
GENRE: M/M Erotica
Are you a full-time writer or part-time, and how do you organize your writing time? I am a part-time writer because I also am also a Master’s of Social Work student. I usually try to write in between my breaks at school and if there is no time, I make time to write at night.
When and why did you begin writing? I began writing when I was in middle school, but my writing was definitely more innocent then.
What inspired you to write your first book? My first book, Pretty Boy, was inspired by a fighting game where I was able to create my first character, Kai Masami.
What do you do when you’re not writing/editing or thinking about writing/editing? When I’m not writing or thinking about writing, which is rare, I am cooking. I love to cook healthy versions of sweets and foods.
Do you ever have writer’s block? If so, how do you get through it? Sometimes I get writer’s block, but usually that only happens with one book I am working on. I can then just go to a different one and work on that for a while.
What are your current projects? One of my current projects is a young adult book I am working on, but I don’t want to say too much about that. Another book I am working on is for Changeling, and it is a BDSM novella where I pushed the limits to beyond what I had ever done before.
What do you plan for the future? I hope to continue writing for Changeling and for a few other publishers as well through my life.
How can we find you? Website, Facebook, Twitter, blog, etc.? My blog is http://anarainebooks.blogspot.com/
Tell us about the current book you’re promoting. The current book I am promoting is called Levi and is the second in my Agency series. The main character Levi, is an escort at The Kline and has never questioned his way of life until he sees one of his fellow escorts find love and leave The Kline. Levi then decides to take a risk on becoming a submissive for a dominant who is very interested in him.
PUBLISHER: Changeling Press
Do you outline before you write? If not, what’s your initial process? I definitely do an outline for a book. I used to not do an outline, but I ended up getting confused as to where I was.
What comes first: the plot or characters? I think the characters usually come first, and then I build a world they would live in next.
Do writing violent or highly sexual scenes bother you? Why or why not? No, they don’t. My first book series was about a professional fighter, so writing violent scenes was expected. Because I write erotica, sexual scenes are kind of a must.
How long does it take to write a book, and what is your process? After I think about the outline, it takes me about seven to eight weeks to write a novella.
What are your current books out right now, and what are the books coming up for release? My current books right now are Levi (Agency 2) and The Secret of Hidden Oaks, which has shape shifters. My next two projects coming up are a BDSM novella and the second Secret of Hidden Oaks.
What do you do when you’re not writing? When I’m not writing, I’m cooking, exercising, studying, painting, or reading.
Describe your writing space. My writing space is a pretty cluttered desk with folders and books from school, pictures of my family, outlines for future and current book projects, and paintings.
